It is what it is but don't get me started... February 24, 2009 Reviewer: Pliny from Hansville, WA United States   A poncho is is a poncho.  some people like them a lot, others consider them worthless. For a day hike a poncho can be an adequate rain coat where rain pants are almost unnecessary.  At about 14 ounces that isn't so bad.  They work less well in wind. They seem like they would ventilate well, but hiking up hill with a pack you will sweat under a poncho.  This one is adequately made and the features (hood, snaps, seams) seem to be of good quality and work well.  I think the price is reasonable.  the product is good, but you need to try it out to see if it works for your particular situation.
