The Asolo Flame GTX Gore-Tex Men's Hiking Boot is made to Asolo's strict standards and use Gore Tex Technology to keep your feet dry.  What you get is a durable, waterproof, comfortable boot that wears long.  Their Active Heel Support keeps your heel in place and is lightweight.  Their Matrix Outsole is dual density for durability and shock absorption.  

Active Heel Support - Developed by Asolo research, Active Heel Support (AHS) is “visual technology” by externalizing the mechanism positioned in the heel zone with two functions: Heel control and shock absorption due to physical activity. Engineered with double injection technology, the Active Heel Support (AHS) is optimized by use of leading-edge materials that offer lightweightness, support and shock absorption.

Matrix Outsole - The moderately aggressive, dual-density outsole incorporates Aso-brake for maximum downhill grip and offers superior grip on uneven terrains. While both the lightweight EVA midsole and suede and Cordura uppers with captivating aesthetics seek to lighten the load, the Active Heel Support (AHS) element absorbs shocks and minimizes fatigue.
